To educate the Portuguese about the benefits of card use Visa Contactless and thus contribute for more secure, fast and convenient payments, Visa bet in simple language and in off and online stories that demonstrate the added value of this technology to consumers and merchants.
Through Contactless technology just approach a card debit or credit a few centimeters of a payment terminal adapted to effect the transaction. This innovation allows for low-value payments – up to € 20 – without entering the PIN code. Holders of a Visa Contactless card can use it in Portugal or abroad in acceptance points marked with the Contactless symbol.
This campaign comes at a time that Visa released its annual results, which demonstrate the number of Contactless cards in Portugal reached 5.28M, 41.2% more than December 2014. the adaptation of traders to such payments also continues apace. There are now more than 15,000 terminals that accept this technology and many others are in the activation process.
