Secretary of Science and Technology DF is indicated to preside … – Globo.com

The Secretary of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Federal District, Paulo Sergio Salles, was appointed by the government to assume the presidency of the Regulatory Agency for Water, Energy and Sanitation (Adasa). The name must be evaluated by the Legislature in September. There is no date set for the approval, or to taking office.

The secretariat confirmed the statement, but said Salles remains in charge of the folder until the case is enjoyed by Members. No word on who will take the office if the current head is led to the regulator. The G1 tried to talk to Salles, but was told he was in a meeting all afternoon.

According to Adasa, the mandate of the current director, Vinicius Benevides, ends in early September. He may be reappointed, but the definition is up to the Buriti and the House.

If Salles indication is approved by the district, it has 30 days from the publication in the Gazette to take over the mandate of 5 years. After taking office, he can only lose the position “in the event of resignation, judicial conviction has become final or administrative disciplinary process.”

Retired from the University of Brasilia (UNB) as an associate professor, Salles was CEO of the Foundation for Research Support (FAP-DF) during Agnelo Queiroz government. He is also vice-chairman of the Paranoá River Basin Committee.

The transfer of Salles for the command of Adasa should encourage the organization of the World Water Forum, held in Mexico City in 2018. The indication the secretary would have been formulated by the governor Rodrigo Rollemberg in partnership with the international committee that organizes the event. In April, Salles represented the GDF in the 2015 edition of the Forum, in South Korea.

Surprise
Representatives of the academic community say face with “surprise and concern” changing station. Dean of Research and Graduate Studies at UNB, Jaime Santana said he learned of the statement on Thursday (27). He said the secretary himself was surprised by the news.
