Apple patented technology that cancels noise in the headphones – Digital Look

Apple seems to be interested in improving the quality of your headphones. According to AppleInsider site, the company received a patent for a system that uses sensors and accelerometers to detect external noise and adjust the playback volume.

The document, published by the Patent and Trademark Office the United States on Thursday, 27, describes a “method to improve voice quality in a headset wirelessly from a mobile device”

The two phones would be equipped with microphones, accelerometers, batteries and audio signal processing hardware. Inertial sensors, that is, those that identify whether the user is stationary or moving, should be used to detect vibrations in the vocal cords user, while built-in microphones able to detect external noise such as wind. Together, the information will be used to determine how they should be adjusted the sound levels.

The system would be capable of detecting also the handset is actually in the user’s ear.

As in all patent, it remains to be seen whether Apple will make the technology reality soon.
