A joint agenda on nanotechnology, biotechnology and technological parks between Brazil and Iran was established with the goal of boosting bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
“Brazil is the 13th Country in the production of knowledge and the Iran occupies the 17th position. Approximately 44% of the Gross Domestic Product of them is related to industrial activity,” says the secretary of Technological Development and Innovation of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communication (MCTIC), Alvaro Silver.
According to the secretary, the nations will form a working group and to define concrete actions for the brazilians and iranians to move forward in research.
The setting was held this Thursday (17) between the secretary of the MCTIC and the senior advisor of International Affairs and Technology Transfer of Iran, Sohrab Assa.
Research
The memorandum of understanding provides for: cooperation and technology transfer in biotechnology; research and development of new drugs and products aimed at the sector of agriculture; joint research in nanotechnology, with an emphasis for nanomedicine and research in the area of cognitive sciences.
The document also defines, as a mutual interest, to explore possibilities of research and development in Information and Communication Technologies (Icts), such as hardware, software, policies, cyber, computing and cognitive development and exchange of knowledge in technology parks.
