Since 2013, Brazil has been suffering a strong fall in investment in science and technology. This undermines the education, basic research and the development of the country. The alert was made by managers in the public hearing, on Tuesday (22), the Commission of Science, Technology, Innovation, Communication and Informatics (CCT), which discussed the situation of the Funds of the Incentive to Scientific and Technological Development. According to the senator the Day Martins (PDT–RS), president of the CCT, the excessive bureaucracy, the lack of regularity in the release of funds, the pooling of resources, the failure to comply with the payment of approved projects and the discrepancy between the revenues of funds a nd their effective implementation are some of the major problems faced by the sector.
