Portugal will adopt the Video Referee technology – zerozero.pt

Portugal is one of six countries that will participate in the experience of the Video Referee. Pedro Proenca, president of the Portuguese Professional Football League, considered this Thursday that modernization is important for the national football.

“It is a unique moment for Portugal League and for our competitions we can be present in the video referee’s experience and improve our design upgrading the level of technology in football, “said Pedro Proenca.

The former official said that “the intention is to adopt this innovation in the finals of the League Cup.”

The new technology will be used for the first time in the Supercup, on August 7, in the game between Benfica and Braga.
