Usually, those who complete a degree in Computer or IT sciences, and even those already in the market longer, just directing its efforts to jobs in technology companies or industry consultants. But there is a segment, still under the radar, which can leverage the careers of IT professionals. It is the financial market with Business Analyst positions, Testing and Development.
There is a growing demand for technology professionals, mainly in investment banking. As big as the demand is the challenge of finding qualified candidates to fill the vacancies. The main obstacle is English. For these banks have a very frequent international interaction, either with the matrix, project or regulatory bodies abroad, these professionals need to have full control and be able to drive smoothly a meeting in the language. Hardly no English, the professional can easily get in a strategic position and effectively participate in business decisions.
Another issue is the familiarity with the business. The financial sector requires some expertise. No need to be an expert, but it is appropriate to understand what the role of the treasury, the compliance, the investment manager, to be able to propose improvements in systems and processes to make the day more efficient day.
Recently, we published our Salary Guide 2016, and prospects for the labor market next year, and it highlighted the IT professional is no longer seen as an introvert employee to be perceived as someone strategic, with good relationship with the other business areas. When found, candidates with this profile tend to be more valued in the financial markets, both in hiring but also in talent retention policies.
The year 2016 will continue to present good opportunities for IT professionals . Being prepared will make all the difference in order to receive a good or a great proposal. In times of crisis, this is excellent news. Do not waste this chance!
