Qualcomm announced on Tuesday that it has developed a solution that allows charging without wire with metal formant devices, something that until now was impossible. The novelty uses a technology developed by the company, called WiPower, and is compatible with standard Rezence.
“Building a wireless charging solution in metal exterior with devices is a significant step for the industry,” said Steve Pazol, general manager of wireless charging Qualcomm Incorporated. “Currently, the device manufacturers are opting to use metals in their products to provide greater structural and aesthetic support. The technology eliminates one of the leading wireless charging of obstacles and can assist in adoption,” he says.
How it works
Like other standard technologies Rezence, the WiPower operates at a frequency that tolerates metal objects in the cargo field. So far, the feature was only used to prevent objects such as keys and coins would affect loading, but now passes to allow themselves metal devices are loaded while maintaining the ability and speed to load.
. technology even allows simultaneous charging of multiple devices at the same time
