The president of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, inaugurated on Wednesday a bridge that includes Portuguese technology, the company EBRD – Project, Research and Bridge Engineering. The EBRD shuttle is specially designed for the bridge Anita Garibaldi, in Laguna, State of Santa Catarina, which is part of the OPS system, innovative technology company based in Oporto.
The bridge built in Laguna, Brazil, has the remarkable size of 2.8 kilometers long, it is the first cable-stayed bridge in the country curve.
The technology allowed the Portuguese company accelerate the construction. In partnership with the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto, the EBRD will launch in 2017, the World Innovation Award in Engineering Bridges (EBRD-FEUP WIBE 2017).
