What to expect from the technology in 2017 – Daily of the Region (Signature)

Looking to the future is almost always to think about new technologies that are coming. With the rise of bots, artificial intelligence and the internet of things, we are not so far from what was imagined by the science fiction movies of 10 or 20 years ago. But, what to expect from the technology in 2017? A study released by Ericsson ConsumerLab, which analyzes the behavior of technology users, selected the main trends for the next year.

The report, “The 10 consumer trends for 2017 and beyond” with the participation of 7.138 advanced users of technology in 14 world cities, including São Paulo. See what were the conclusions of the study:

artificial Intelligence

The artificial intelligence is increasingly accepted, including on the desktop. 35% of respondents said that they would like to have a kind of virtual consultant to guide its functions in the work. On the other hand, 60% of people worry that artificial intelligence to replace functions of humans, who may lose their jobs.

Internet of Things

This sector can gain even more strength, with the emergence of new gadgets connected to the internet. In addition, 58% of users believe that the smartphone will learn your habits and will perform tasks automatically.

autonomous Cars

Among the brazilian respondents, 60% said that they would like to have a smart car, which traces the history itself and dismissed the driver. 40% of pedestrians stated that they would feel safer to cross the street if vehicles were already stand-alone.

The technology of virtual reality, which is already affordable for a good part of the population, can win frightening proportions. The study pointed out that 70% of advanced users of the technology believe that, in three years, virtual reality will be indistinguishable from reality. The other 60% think that parts of the clothing, such as gloves and shoes, will be able to interact with virtual objects.

side Effects

Despite the advances, users fear side effects, such as nausea caused by the use of virtual reality. The report pointed out that 50% of respondents believe that they will need medicines against nausea to use these devices.

The number of people that use alarms, security cameras and notifications integrated to the smartphone is expected to grow even more in the coming years. The study showed that 60% of users already use these features.

social Networks

The social networks came even to stay. Among the respondents, 40% said they use these platforms to keep up with the news. The other 30% stated that they take into consideration the opinions of your contacts. The perspective for the future is that social networks become the main or even the only, form of contact between people.

augmented Reality

Success with the game Pokémon Go, augmented reality should continue in ascension. According to the study, 70% of respondents would use glasses equipped with the technology to illuminate dark environments and highlight the dangers. The other 50% would like to use the equipment to edit elements unpleasant reality around you.

Security

In 2016, messengers such as WhatsApp and Messenger started to offer serviçso encrypted to ensure the privacy of its users. According to the report from Ericsson, this trend should continue. More than half of the advanced users want to only use encrypted services in 2017. A third of respondents, however, believe that online privacy no longer exists.

Consumption

According to the study, the expectation of users is that the technology reaches everyone in more democratic ways. Three-quarters of the respondents stated also that they want to acquire products of the five largest companies of the technology in coming years.
