The major technology companies have joined forces with an association in artificial intelligence, in order to cooperate in a "best practices" in the use of this technology to benefit people and society".
Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Facebook, IBM, and the british firm of artificial intelligence DeepMind, a property of Google, announced on Thursday the non-profit organization "Association on Artificial Intelligence", focused on helping the public understand the use of technology and its application in the field.
The move comes amid concern that the new artificial intelligence can get out of control and be detrimental to society.
For its part, Microsoft has taken another step on Thursday in the artificial intelligence field, to announce a drive to "democratize" technology, with more than 5,000 scientists and computer engineers.
Microsoft hopes that its new Artificial Intelligence and the Research Group to accelerate the use of human thought in the virtual assistants, applications, services and computing infrastructures.
