Amazon requested registration of a patent for the use of aircraft that would operate as distribution centers air products to be delivered with the help of drones.
Done two years ago, the patent application was only realized only on Wednesday (28) by Zoe Leavitt, a data analyst and technology market research firm CB Insights.
According to the description of the technology, the drones were released of the so-called “centres of supply of the air” (AFC, its acronym in English) would use less power than those launched from the ground. Illustration of the idea in the patent application show vehicles similar to the airships as part of the system.
The AFCs planariam at an altitude of 45 thousand feet (13.7 thousand meters) and would be replenished by “smaller aircraft”.
Representatives for Amazon were not immediately available for comment but the company has already released plans that it plans to start using drones for deliveries of products from next year.
