Ship Admiral of the German brand, the new BMW 7 Series leaves no credit for others’ hands in luxury, comfort, efficiency and dynamics. However, it is in equipment and new technologies on board the model surprises very positively, as we were able to enjoy during the recent dynamic presentation held in Portugal.
Presented at the last Salon Frankfurt, the new 7 Series is slightly longer (19mm) than its predecessor, both in normal version (5,098m) and in the long wheelbase (5,298m). Nevertheless, it is lighter 130 kg thanks to the use of reinforced plastic carbon fiber in your body.
Aesthetically, despite the more refined overall appearance and dynamics, 7 Series evolves little and changes are easily identifiable: new chrome trim on the lower side area that finish in two small air intakes, new rear lights and a more imposing front but similar to other models of the brand, with the typical double grill glued to the headlights, which for the first time They can receive laser headlights.
Used initially in the i8, the laser headlights have a range of 600 meters in maximum mode, ie double that of the LED headlights, and are associated with technology ‘Selective Beam’ to not dazzle the Front conductors. This is one of several new series 7.
In the cabin, the ‘premium’ environment is evident in the sophisticated materials, the finishes and comfort. However, the dashboard retains the classical architecture with a panel oriented towards the driver, surmounted by a 10.25-inch screen, which can be handled as a ‘tablet’.
In the Executive equipment line, banks have air conditioning, heating and various massage functions. The back seat can tilt right up to 42.5 degrees and the front seat can be advanced 90mm by the passenger. Optionally, the rear center console can integrate an additional folding table and a ‘tablet’ 7 “removable with access to various functions.
7 Series debut still a new ‘display head-up’ with a projection surface on the windscreen 70 percent larger and a new panoramic glass roof.
Serial Equipped with air suspension on both axes and dampers variables, the new 7 Series offers a unique driving experience in terms of safety and comfort.
The model is available at launch in two versions, diesel, 730d and 730d xDrive, with a block six-cylinder 265cv. The gasoline, the 740i xDrive mounts a 3.0-liter 326cv and 750i saves block V8 that delivers 450cv.

After the ‘interface’ iDrive, the touch screen and voice commands, the 7 Series introduces optionally a new way to communicate.
