The church must embrace such initiatives?
Popemoji is the name of an application that allows users of iOS and Android systems share a number of animated images of Pope Francisco. The application was created by Swyft Media with supervision of the Sports Media Challenge in anticipation of the visit of the Pope to the United States later this month.
The app has 52 emojis and 14 GIFs (animated pictures) Francisco Pope visiting important sites of American cities, such as Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC, or the Statue of Liberty and the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Other illustrations show the pope to eat a hot dog, take selfies or practicing football, but his passion for ‘our’ football is also present
A pope least” stoic “
Kathleen Hessert, founder of Sports Media Challenge, said the site Mashable that this application has raised the interest of the Vatican and that your business is prepared to complaints that may arise from more conservative members of the Church.
However, Hessert states that “the initiative is intended to better connect the Church to young people” and that Popemoji could not have been invented if the perception of Francis Pope was not so positive, unlike former pontiffs who Hesser describes as “Stoics “. The founder of Sports Media Challenge further states that if it is well received, the application will have frequent updates.
The app Popemoji can be downloaded in the Play Store Google or App Store from Apple.
